PRECIOUS THAN JEWELS

Two pretty girls were about to begin a competition. 'Poo-poo', sounded the whistle as it all began. They had headphones by which they can commune with advisers  assigned to them. Linda came from a wealthy family...she exercises a lot and eats well, so she's really fit for the competition. On the other hand, Miriam is the only child of a poor farmer, she's a little plumb and badly-shaped, she has no much strength in her.
Linda was running, climbing and sliding very fast and perfectly, she was taking the lead while Miriam was forcing her way through the tunnels and pits as well as striving to climb when neccessary, she got a lot of advice from her adviser.
Linda got to a place and saw a lot of jewels. She was overjoyed and thank her stars. There was no where to put them so she asked her adviser on how to go about it. "There is a little bag on top of that mountain close to you, but..." She didn't allow her to finish before she dashed out towards the bottom of the mountain and started climbing.
Miriam got to where the jewels were, she wanted to pick some but her adviser told her to keep going. She(the adviser) said, "If you win
the race, you'd get more than this"...she kept on going, she could see the finish which was on a little slippery rock.
Linda was done packing and rushing down to catch up with Miriam, her bag was getting torn but she held on tight. She ran past Miriam and was about to start climbing  to the finish when the bag finally tore. She came down and wanted to pack them but there was nowhere to put the jewels. She wanted to ask of help from her adviser but she forgot her headphone when she was busy packing the jewels.
She started crying but no help came, Miriam had started climbing the rock before she could pull herself together. When she finally decided to leave the jewels and climb on, Miriam had won the race!

There's a lot to grasp from this story...think about it and figure them out.
We are all running a race in this life and there are distractions along the way, no one is beyond temptation that's why God sent His Spirit to keep cautioning us.
 Please check up: Matthew 6:19- 20, Hebrew 13:5-6, Luke 13:23-30, 1 Corinthians 9:24-27.

I urge you to read the book 'Purpose-Driven Life' by Rick Warren.

God bless.
