IDENTITY

A lot of people find their identity in what they do and even some are confused about who they are.
There are so many conflict when it comes to Identity and we see it materialize in what we call low self-esteem.
People are pressurized into living up to ‘an image’ hence not discovering their own self.

You are as unique as your fingerprint.
T D Jakes in the 7 chapters of this book, has helped us to understand through the scriptures of the Holy Bible that God has a purpose for creating EVERY ONE. You are not an accident nor a mistake, your parent may not have planned you but He did.

“The value of your creator should cause you to reconsider your own worth and value”

We carry the very nature of God because He made us in His image and likeness. Our make-up: personality, temperament, IQ, height is needed for what we were made to do.

“The designer made you a certain way so that you could accomplish a certain purpose”

He made no mistake when making you. You are His masterpiece.
Like Elisha, we should be able to recognize God-ordained moment calling us into our purpose even as we are faithful in what we are doing at the moment.

T D Jakes made us understand in this book that there are no such thing as you’re not fit for your purpose. God doesn’t use perfect people as in fact no one is, He uses ready heart.
He uses us in spite of us. No one can ever do it the way you would do it. You are UNIQUE.

“One of the enemy’s greatest lies concerning your purpose is that you are unworthy to step into so great a purpose”

You have to understand that your purpose is beyond you. When you refuse to fulfill purpose, you are depriving your generation of the benefits.

“You play an integral, interconnected part in completing the most glorious puzzle conceivable!”

Lastly, be found ready when your moment comes and don’t announce yourself, don’t be in an haste to be known!

PATH FINDER

This is not the first ‘purpose book’ I would read but what i saw in this book I haven’t seen anywhere else. The knowledge in this book wowed my mind.

The author uses the life of Joseph (and other people) as an illustration of how purpose is unveiled in ones life, of how Joseph continued to serve people which lead him into destiny.

This is a book on living the life God has called you into. This book messes with your mindset in a good way, it helps you put things in proper perspective and it gives you insight in God’s word. And what better way to understand destiny than from God Himself.

In this book you’d see
  • How service and greatness is linked.
“Serving doesn’t lead to greatness, it is simply what Great people do!”

  • What progress really means.
“Patience is not determined by time, it is determined by the promise“

  • The concept of time
“No regret without time, no hope without it, faith is useless when it’s absent, Love couldn’t express itself in its demise”
  • Seasons in destiny
Planting season, Rooting Season, Growth Season and Yielding Season
What and what shouldn’t be done in these seasons.
  • The role Relationships play in fulfilling purpose
“Ultimately, the things relationships will bring into your life, no wealth could possibly bring them.”
  • How Excellnce and Diligence would go a long way in your journey
  • How unwise it is to want to be like someone else or compare yourself with others
  • The recipe for making wise decisions.
“Decisions determine destiny.”
  • Little (innocent) compromises that can prevent you from fulfilling purpose
  • The role your mouth plays in the fulfillment of your destiny.
“Your life is moving constantly in the direction of your dominant confession.”
At the last page of this book, you’ll see an invitation to accept Christ(if you haven’t) because there’s no purpose outside of Christ. And after receiving the life of Christ into your life, the next big thing is to ask Him ‘What you are on earth for?’ This book makes your discovery easier.

THE RICHER WOMAN

Omilola Oshikoya
African's Premier Wealth Coach
A talk host
Convener of DO IT AFRAID CONFERENCE

This book is divided into 2 parts
In Part 1 , Omilola starts by talking about the moth and the butterfly. How the two insects have similar processes but emerge differently.
She likens the Moth to people who live life working in careers that they do not like, people who desire to be rich at the expense of their children, marriages, family, their health, and even eternity and the Butterfly to people who live full and content lives, who are purpose-driven.
Omilola tells us about her life’s journey, how she moved from wanting to be rich and successful to being a Richer Woman - a Proverbs 31 woman: a woman of purpose who doesn’t compromise on her family in pursuit of a career.
She shared her life’s journey: her background, the financial difficulty her family faced, how she was abused by their house help, her quest for love, how she met her now husband, how her career and insecurities affected her marriage, how she became emotionally involved with a married man and her journey to breaking free from it, how she struggled to quit her job despite how unhappy she was with her life, how she finally quit her job and volunteered in church which led her into Media.
She wrote about God experiences she had here and there and how He intervened in her marriage and life.
The Richer Woman
a woman’s guide to true wealth
Published in 2017 by Empowerment Initiatives Ltd and Omilola Oshikoya International

In Part 2
She tells us who a Richer Woman is and how our role as the Father’s daughter is prioritized over our role as a wife and then as a mother.

She mentioned that The Richer Woman’s wheel of life contains the following
  • Spirituality
  • Family
  • Work/Career/Achievement
  • Health and Well-being
  • Friendships/Relationships
Dream Team: mentor, confidant, buddy, coach, sponsor, Judas, Praying partner and mentee
  • Fun/Recreation/Rest
  • Money/Finances
  • Time Management

She mentioned that Fear of
  • Failure
  • Trading security for the unknown
“A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for - John A Shedd”
  • What others would say or think
  • Not being able to cope financially
has hindered people from making decisions that would make then the Richer Woman.
She encourages us to FACE OUR FEARS AND DO IT AFRAID.

A Richer Woman is like an eagle and as one you should:
  1. Have a vision
  2. Change our (limiting) Belief System
  3. Believe in yourself and believe in your dreams
  4. Do it now
  5. Take the first step without knowing what lies ahead
“Sometimes you will be required to jump into the unknown without a plan, and sometimes you will be required to plan ahead”
  1. Build a dream team
  2. Stay Motivated
  3. Stay grateful
  4. Trust your process
