Fresh start by Joel Osteen the new you begins today Published December 2015 by Faithwords |
But as i began to read the book, i was proved wrong.
I realized everyone at some point needs a fresh start in God because we all experience moments of dryness in our walk with God. We tend to get busy with other things and forget that God is our ultimate source of strength and wisdom for daily living.
The book is divided into 3 parts
Ist Part - Keys to staying connected with God
2nd Part - Set a new standard
3rd Part - The Power of God’s word
This is a book every believer should read because Christianity is a relationship between God and man and not a religion. This book is a good reminder of that. You don’t claim to love someone or be in a relationship with them and go days/weeks without talking to them.
"If you're going to taste God's goodness, you have to realise that every good break, every time you were protected, every door that opened, and every advantage you've gotten has been God working in your life"
He talked about ways that God can be in your consciousness throughout your day.
Like Key #1 under the first part is about looking out for God’s Goodness
We have to understand that God wants to bless us more than we want to be blessed so look out to be blessed by God and have a thankful heart.
Other keys he talked about are
#2 keeping God first place in your life
#3 releasing negative experiences
#4 thinking yourself into victory
#5 protecting your vision
“Before your dream can come to pass, you have to see yourself accomplishing that dream”
#6 using the power of “I am”
#7 being careful of what you feed yourself with
#8 dealing with anything that prevents your best
"When you gave your life to Christ, you became a new creation. He put new genes in you. You have the DNA of almighty God"
Part 3 is my best part because God’s word is our manual for living. We were born of the Word (1Peter 1:23) so we will only thrive based on how much of the Word is in us.
He provided us with scriptures on God’s promises, scriptures on managing our thought life, one year Bible reading plan and so on.
So if you’re looking for a guide into a more fulfilling relationship with God, you should get this.
