I lay on my bed thinking shouldn't the plural of food be feed since the plural of tooth is teeth.
I thought, how did I know which word to add -s, -en, or the one to change.
Then I recalled, aside my teacher teaching me, I use to know by how 'sweet' it sounds when I say it.(I'm sure most people did that too)
I could remember when I was in a class and the teacher asked, what's the singular form of lice?, and nobody knew but I suddenly remembered the plural form of mouse is mice; hey the spelling structure is alike, so I raised up my hand and with a faint confidence said, its louse.
Guess what! I was right! Mehn, I felt good. I was reluctant to say it because it just doesn't sound right! I'm not familiar with the word, like I was with tooth-teeth, mouse-mice, but what I was already familiar with led me to the unfamiliar.
So its a two way thing: it either sounds right or looks familiar with a word I already know.
So...what if neither is the case?
If the situation is not what you are familiar with at all and it just doesn't look right... TRY!!! Because if you are like me I like to get the answer right, but you can't always get it right! Think of a possible solution and fill it instead of avoiding the whole thing all together (unless of course there's negative marking lol) the point is if you fail you'll know next time that answer is not right and if you pass it's a +1.
Don't be like the old me who doesn't like challenges, yes, I've gotten to that stage in my life in which I'M TIRED of running away from challenges. If you don't move out of your comfort zone, YOU CAN'T GROW!!!
Come out of your comfort zone, LET'S GROW TOGETHER!!!
