So i joined a book challenge, and it started on Sunday and it has really been an awesome, challenging, inspiring, enlightening journey. Last year i read two books a month and it wasn't really much of a challenge as i like reading, so this year i decided to read one book a month and focus on my spritual growth. But i had an after thought and decided to keep reading two books a month and still meet my spiritual goals.
So this book challenge was just what i needed, trying something outside my comfort zone, the book challenge has helped me in making the best use of my time, talk more of the knowledge gained in the book.
I chose to read how to stop worrying and start living, and boy! This book is awesome and No! I don't have a worry problem. Just thirsty for knowledge and i couldn't get the book i intended reading.
So here's my book review
The book is divided into 10 parts.
Part One- Fundamental Facts You Should Know About Worry
Part Two - Basic Techniques In Analysing Worry
Part Three - How To Break The Worry Habit Before It Breaks You
Part Four - Seven Ways To Cultivate A Mental Attitude That Will Bring You Peace And Happiness
Part Five - The Golden Rule For Conquering Worry
Part Six - How To Keep From Worrying About Criticism
Part Seven - Six Ways To Prevent Fatigue And Worry And Keep Your Energy And Spirits High
Part Eight - How To Find The Kind Of Work In Which You May Be Happy And Successful
Part Nine - How To Lessen Your Financial Worries
Part Ten - "How I Conquered Worry" (32 True Stories)
One thing that stood out to me was the power of the mind. When i tell my friends boredom starts from the mind, they will be like what is this girl saying. Reading this book helped me to understand better that the mind is truly very powerful. You are miserable in your mind before you are miserable outwardly, i might not have too much experience to prove this but the writer surely does because a lot of true life stories were mentioned.
Worry is the root problem of many of the major diseases we have, ulcers, headaches and the likes. Funny as it sound, stop worrying and you will be a lot healthier. This explains why the health centre is always filled during examination period because students are worried about failing and worry leads to stress and fatigue which makes one sick.
Different method to stop worrying was discussed but like i said earlier Part four ministered to me more, your mental attitude, because this is a part that i strongly believe is the cause of a lot of human problem.
Oya i don talk too much, if you don't read this year with all this my talk, you need cane ooo.
2017 must be different. If you are a reader already, stretch some more. Till we meet again. Chao!
